The 1978 National Champions were honored at Rupp Arena during Saturday's game against Auburn.

The 1978 Kentucky Wildcats defeated Duke 94-88 for the title. In addition to a National Championship, the team also won an SEC Championship and finished the season with a 30-2 record. Three NBA draft picks came from that team: James Lee, Rick Robey, and Jack Givens who was recognized as the Final Four Most Outstanding Player for his 41-point performance in the title game.
