Kentucky Lands 7-Foot-5 Center Cherif Millogo, the No. 11 Prospect in the 2027 Class

Kentucky basketball finally got its big one.
Cherif Millogo, a 7-foot-5 center and one of the top big men in the country, has committed to Kentucky, a source told Rivals' Joe Tipton on Wednesday.
Millogo is ranked No. 11 overall and the No. 2 center in the 2027 class in the Rivals 150. He is originally from West Africa and now plays for St. Francis in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where he averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks per game last season (via Rivals).
He took an official visit to UK in October and recently wrapped up trips to USC and BYU. Texas, Creighton and Arkansas were among the other schools that offered him, according to Rivals. Before St. Francis he attended Cambridge ATS in Massachusetts, but he missed the 2024-25 season with a torn ACL.
"I have decided to commit to the University of Kentucky," Millogo told 247Sports. "I went on the visit there and I saw how they use their bigs for playmaking, the shooting, the defense, how they play their bigs in pick and roll situations so I feel like this is a good basketball decision for me."
Millogo is Kentucky's second commitment in the 2027 class. He joins four-star shooting guard Ryan Hampton, the No. 23 prospect nationally.
Our take: a week that started rough just turned
Last week Kentucky made the final group for Lewis Uvwo, Reese Alston and DeMarcus Henry and landed none of them. Millogo was the name Big Blue Nation was waiting on, and Mark Pope's staff closed. A true 7-5 rim protector who blocked five shots a game is a rare piece to build a class around.
The knee is worth watching after the ACL that cost him a full season, but last year's numbers say he is back. With Millogo and Hampton in, the 2027 class has a guard and a center to build on.
