UK Swim & Dive Falls to South Carolina by Three Points in Atlanta

Kentucky swimming and diving came about as close as you can get Saturday morning in Atlanta. South Carolina won the third-place meet at The Dual Meet Tournament 393-390 at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center, per UK Athletics and South Carolina Athletics.
The tournament scores each meet as one combined number for the men and women. The UK men won their side 223-170, and the South Carolina women won theirs 223-167, per the official meet results.
A couple of Wildcat wins stood out. Billie Sherratt won the women's 200 butterfly in 1:57.96, and Javier Lopez-Guillen won the men's 200 butterfly in 1:46.51. The UK women also took the 200 freestyle relay by one hundredth of a second, 1:30.51 to 1:30.52.
That wraps the weekend for the Cats: a win over Penn State and a 473.5-314.5 loss to Auburn on Friday, then Saturday's three-point loss to South Carolina. Next up is a trip to Indiana on Friday, Oct. 23.
Our Take: Losing by three in a combined meet hurts, but the men's side looked strong all weekend. Three meets in two days this early in the season is good work for a young group.
