Judge Restores Eligibility for Afari, Louisville Athletes
Copied!

Kentucky linebacker Alex Afari Jr. is eligible again.
On Friday, Jefferson Circuit Judge Brian Edwards granted a new temporary injunction in Wells v. NCAA, restoring 2026-27 eligibility for the 38 Class of 2022 athletes in the case. The list includes Afari plus Louisville's Seth Trimble, L.J. Wells, Jabari Mack and Kalib Perry. The order also bars the NCAA from penalizing schools or coaches that play them.
The Kentucky Court of Appeals had dissolved the judge's earlier order on Oct. 2. This ruling followed a new evidentiary hearing Wednesday. The NCAA can still ask a higher court to review it.
