No. 19 Texas A&M Sweeps No. 4 Kentucky Volleyball in Lexington, 3-0 | Big Blue Times card

Kentucky volleyball played its Pink Match at home in Lexington on Sunday and got swept by No. 19 Texas A&M, 3-0, in a rematch of last December's national championship match, live on ABC.

Every set was close, and Kentucky didn't get one: 25-20, 25-23, 25-21. It's two straight losses for the No. 4 Cats after Wednesday's reverse sweep at Tennessee. Kentucky falls to 15-5 and 7-3 in the SEC, and Texas A&M moves to 13-8 and 6-3.

How it went: A&M simply hit better. The Aggies had 45 kills to Kentucky's 35 and hit .229 to UK's .163. Kentucky actually won the block battle, 12 team blocks to 10, but it gave away 9 service errors with just 1 ace. That's too many free points against a team this good.

For Kentucky, Brooklyn DeLeye led with 14 kills on .353 hitting. Morgan Gaerte had 9 kills, 13 digs and 7 block assists. Lizzie Carr added 6 kills on .429 hitting with 6 block assists, Kennedy Washington had 5 kills and 6 block assists, Kassie O'Brien ran the offense with 31 assists, and Molly Tuozzo had 11 digs.

For A&M, Kyndal Stowers was the problem all day with 16 kills on .314 hitting and 10 digs. Natalie Ring added 12 kills, Kaia Castle hit .462 with 7 kills, Eliza Sharp had 6 kills and 7 blocks at the net, and Margot Manning set the table with 36 assists.

Injuries: we haven't seen any injury news come out of the match.

Our Take: This one stings more than Tennessee, because it was at home, on ABC, against the team that beat Kentucky for the title. The block was there and DeLeye was efficient, but UK couldn't side out cleanly enough and kept missing serves at the worst times. Two losses in a week doesn't change who this team can be in December, but the serving and the passing have to get fixed now, not in the tournament.

What's next: Kentucky stays home and hosts Missouri on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. ET in Lexington, then Alabama (Nov. 6) and Mississippi State (Nov. 8).
