By ·

Match date: Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 · Barker Hall, Lexington

Perfect. Senior Braden Peiser opened the home season by shooting a 600 in air rifle, and Kentucky beat Murray State 4724-4702 in Barker Hall.

Peiser's perfect card came with 53 centers, after a 592 in smallbore, and his 1192 aggregate was the top score of the match. UK shot 2341 in smallbore (matching last week's opener at Georgia Southern) and 2383 in air rifle. Murray State posted 2336 and 2366.

The young guns showed up too. Freshman Maggie Palfrey and sophomore Jacob St. Hilaire both hit career-best 597s in air rifle, and Palfrey finished third overall at 1180. Elizabeth Peiser added a 585 in smallbore.

"Proud of Braden, that took a lot of determination and focus to do today," coach Harry Mullins said.

That's 2-0 to start the year. Next up: Akron in Barker Hall next Saturday, Oct. 17. Admission is free.
