Willie Rodriguez Named a Semifinalist for Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year

Kentucky tight end Willie Rodriguez is a semifinalist for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award.
UK Athletics announced it Wednesday. The award is the first college football honor built mainly around a player's leadership on and off the field, and semifinalists are picked for courage, integrity and sportsmanship. The winner also gets a $10,000 contribution in his name to his school's athletic scholarship fund from Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation.
Rodriguez, a junior from Taylor Mill, has been one of the steadiest pieces of this 6-1 team. Through seven weeks he has career highs with 33 catches, 257 yards and three touchdowns. Those 33 catches lead all SEC tight ends and rank fourth among FBS tight ends. He caught the walk-off 2-point conversion in overtime at South Carolina and scored twice at Oklahoma.
It's the second national honor for a Wildcat today, after Ty Bryant was named a Campbell Trophy finalist. Congrats, Willie.
