Jordan Castell Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week After Two Picks at Oklahoma

The SEC has named Kentucky safety Jordan Castell its Defensive Player of the Week.

Castell picked off John Mateer twice in the 21-13 win at Oklahoma, first on the Sooners' fake field goal, then on their final drive, returning it 41 yards for a touchdown with 1:17 left. The Senior Bowl, which also named him its Defensive Player of the Week, credits him with nine tackles and a pass breakup. KSR notes he now leads the SEC with four interceptions.

Our Take: Easy call. Kentucky forced four turnovers in Norman and Castell had two, including the one that ended it. At 6-1 with Vanderbilt coming to Kroger Field Saturday, the Cats have a ball-hawk at the back end.
